Abstract & Grant Submission

You may submit more than one contribution. However, only one of them will be accepted (with talks and videos taking preference). Submission of contributions does not guarantee acceptance. Speaking and video spaces are limited.
Once received, the Scientific Organising Committee will review your submissions and make a final decision about whether your contribution will be accepted or rejected by

Talks / Oral Presentations
The symposium accommodates talks of up to 15 minutes (strict time limits apply). If you wish to submit an abstract for a talk, please indicate which session theme best suites your contribution.
Abstracts for an oral presentations should include a title, name, text, and may include references. The text of the abstract should be between less than 500 words. Please select the "Talk" box and upload your abstract as a PDF file.

Talks may be delivered in person, virtually, or via pre-recorded video. Those selecting the pre-recorded video option should use the Video option below.


If you would like to play a video of less than 15 minutes in leu of an oral presentation, please provide a link to the video on YouTube or Vimeo, ensuring we have access to view it.

The deadline for video contributions is 1 April 2025. Once received, the Scientific Organising Committee will review video and make a final decision about whether your contribution will be accepted or rejected by 1 May 2025.

If you play a video as part of your oral presentation, please not not use this option.


Attendees are invited to submit a poster for display at the meeting. Posters should be submitted as PDF files and will be reviewed by the Scientific organising Committee. It will be your responsibility to bring your poster for display at the symposium.

Poster contributions will only be displayed by paid attendees who are authors unless special arrangements are made.

IAU Travel Grants

The IAU wishes to support qualified scientists to whom only limited means of support are available (e.g., colleagues from economically less privileged countries and young scientists). These funds are intended to assist in your participation, not cover all expenses.

​A limited number of grants are available for those attending the symposium in person only, for up to €2,000 (Euros). For those awarded a travel grant, you will receive the funds when you register in person at the meeting and sign the receipt.

Please note that the IAU provides funds in Euros (€) only, so shifting exchange rates may alter the specific amount received in $AUD when those funds are transferred.

Please complete and sign the following form and have it ready for uploading when you complete the registration form to the right. Please provide the amount requested in Euros.

AAAC Travel Grants

A small number of travel grants are available to Australian Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, scholars, and community members for up to AUD$2,000. This funding is supported by the Australian Association for Astronomy in Culture (AAAC).


Please attach the completed and signed travel grant application as a PDF file. Those applicants who are awarded the grant will have the money transferred to their nominated bank account when they check-in at the conference and sign the receipt.


Please note that the amount requested is in Australian Dollars ($AUD).
