REGISTRATION TYPE

The fees for attending the meeting will depend on two factors:

  1. Early-Bird Offer

  2. ISAAC Membership


The Early-Bird offer provides a 10% discount for the Symposium.
 
ISAAC Members, including Associate Members, Full Members, and Fellows (who provide a membership number, provided when approved for membership), are provided with a 10% discount. ISAAC Members signing up for Early-Bird Registration have those discounts combined to 20%.

​In-Person Registration for the Symposium includes the following:

  • Access to all sessions

  • All Morning and Afternoon Tea

  • Conference Dinner

  • A physical copy of the IAU Proceedings

  • 2-week complimentary membership to University House

  • Access to all recorded talks via private YouTube channel


Virtual Registration for the Symposium includes the following:

  • Online access to all talk sessions

  • A electronic copy of the IAU Proceedings

  • Access to all recorded talks via private YouTube channel


ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES

​The greater meeting involves a number of activities outside the regular symposium:

Cultural Astronomy School: 2-4 July 2025

The Cultural Astronomy School is a 3-day series of lectures, workshops, and discussions for graduate students working in cultural astronomy. The fee for the event is a flat rate and includes a School Dinner & Trivia night at University House.

​Public Lecture & Telescope Viewing: 6 July 2025

The Astronomical Society of Victoria (ASV) will host a public lecture at the Royal Botanical Gardens, followed by a telescope viewing at Melbourne Observatory. Tickets are free but bookings are essential.

Symposium: 7-11 July 2025

The symposium will take place over a week, with talk sessions on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday, an ISAAC GM followed by a free day of local activities on Wednesday, and finally a series of workshops, panel discussions, performances, exhibitions, and a concluding lecture on Friday.

 

Conference Dinner: 10 July 2025

 

The formal conference dinner will be held on the evening of 10 July at the University House's Woodward Centre (TBC). It will consist of a three-course meal with access to the bar (alcoholic drinks are not covered by the registration fee, but you may purchase drinks at the bar with the Member discount using the complimentary membership card issued to attendees).

Planetarium Show & Ticket to Grazeland: 11 July 2025

An optional event will be held on the evening of Friday, 11 July at Melbourne Planetarium in Spotswood, followed by dinner at Grazeland (next door). The cost is for the planetarium show only. The entry fee for Grazeland is covered by the planetarium ticket, but visitors must purchase their own meals once inside.

Post-Conference Excursion: 13-15 July 2025

This excursion will take visitors across the Central Desert, from Alice Springs to Uluru, to visit world heritage and local Aboriginal sites of significance, including Palm Valley, Tnorala, Kings Canyon, Uluru, and Kata Juta.​​


STUDENT ACCOMMODATION

Accommodation for students and some scholars is provided by University College at the University of Melbourne. There are three types of rooms:


​Rooms are for single occupancy and include wifi, daily continental and hot breakfast, and weekly linen changes.

The pricing offered for rooms requires a minimum stay of 7 nights and does not include lunches or dinners. If you would like to include lunches and/or dinners during your stay, please select them separately for the total number.


PROCEEDINGS

A copy of the conference proceedings is included in all registrations.

  • A physical copy is included for in-person registrants.

  • An electronic copy is included for virtual registrants.

You have the option of ordering an additional physical or electronic copy.
